0:00: Welcome back to another episode of the Sales Mama podcast.
0:03: I'm your host, Sasha Davis, as always.
0:07: If you're new here, welcome.
0:09: I'm a mom of 4 living in southern Oregon.
0:12: I live on a ranch.
0:13: We got some, you know, cattle, I got some horses, chickens, ducks, all the things.
0:17: I'm actually on my way to a team sorting lesson,, right now with my big paint mare.
0:26: And I have lots of ideas in the car.
0:30: It's like a quiet time where I don't have to focus on anything other than driving and I just, I don't know, it's where my best ideas come to me.
0:39: It's where I want a podcast.
0:40: It's where, I don't know, a lot of things happen, so you guys get me in the car a lot and it just, it is what it is.
0:45: So, but today I want to talk about When we make decisions, having them be a full body, hell yes.
0:53: And this has come up quite a bit in the last couple of weeks, came up again this morning, so let's talk about it.
0:59: I have a client who is redoing a website.
1:03: And we've been trying to find the perfect person for her to redo her website.
1:09: And not that she has, you know, a super complex website, but we want it to be.
1:15: We want it to be awesome.
1:17: Like we want it to be out of the park, amazing, right?
1:20: Not just like a little bit better, but like a lot better, right?
1:27: And there are some really great website designers out there.
1:31: There's some really great website designers out there, but you have to find the person for you.
1:37: And oftentimes we just go with Whatever's in front of us, right?
1:44: We go with what's easy.
1:46: We start to get ourselves in that rut, and I think we do this in life a lot of times.
1:53: This is what happens to most people when they climb the corporate ladder or they are going to school and they're.
2:01: You know it's what happened to me.
2:03: I was the first one to graduate high school, the first one to graduate college, first one to go get like a high paying job.
2:10: I just kind of, you know, gradually followed the steps.
2:12: I was like, what would a normal person do?
2:14: You just kind of follow the rut called life and It just becomes habitual to do what's easy or what's right in front of you or what you think quote unquote normal people would do, and you kind of forget what it is that you want or what you like.
2:33: And I have declared that we don't have room for maybes or me or, well, yeah, we only want full body hell yeses from here on out, OK.
2:47: And so I'm working with this gal, she's a client of mine, love her to death.
2:50: She's one of my favorite clients and I know we're not supposed to have favorites, but let's be honest, we all have favorites, and I am talking to her and she's like, yeah, well, if you recommend her, I'll just go with her.
3:02: And I'm like, well, I don't want you to go with her just because I've recommended her to you.
3:06: Like, let's let's look at the stuff and see how we feel about it, right?
3:10: And so you're looking at some of her designs and I could just tell that she wasn't like a full body hell yes.
3:16: And so I'm talking to her and I'm like, listen, like I know other people, like there's other people out there.
3:21: Like, let's keep looking, you know, I want it to be a hell yes for you.
3:27: And I'm glad that she kind of hesitated because that hesitation is your body, your gut, your intuition, however you want to say it, telling you that, no, not this.
3:39: And you need to start listening to those things and honoring those things.
3:42: Whether it's in your life, whether it's in your business, it could be in your marketing process, your sales process.
3:48: Hell, it could be in your parenting, it could be in your, you know, anything, right?
3:53: It's your way of telling yourself, no, not this, and start to listen to those things.
3:59: Don't just take what everybody else is telling you to do just because everybody else is telling you to do it.
4:05: What does your gut tell you?
4:06: What does your what does your body tell you?
4:10: What does your mind tell you when you shut out all the noise?
4:13: What decision would you make for yourself if there was nobody else in the room?
4:18: OK.
4:19: And that's where these like full body hell yeses come from, right?
4:22: They're exciting, they're fun, you're like, hell yes, like this is it, right?
4:28: And so I could sense a little bit of hesitation when we first started talking about, you know, this website design.
4:33: And, you know, I've been doing this long enough to where I can kind of tell when somebody's hesitant, right?
4:38: I can just feel it.
4:38: I can just, I just know it.
4:40: And so, I'm like, hey, we'll keep looking.
4:43: And I do this for all the people, you know, if they're trying to find like a, a setter, a closer, a virtual assistant, a web designer, anything, right?
4:50: If it's not a hell yes, I'm like, we'll keep looking.
4:53: If it's not a hell yes, it's a no.
4:55: And so I'm looking, looking, looking, and I put out a post actually on Facebook and I mean I got all kinds of people coming into my inbox, sharing me, sharing with me this website and that website, and this website and that website.
5:10: Do this, do that.
5:11: I'm like, holy smoke.
5:12: So I ended up deleting the post and just asking a few.
5:16: Local connections and a few like networking connections.
5:21: Hey, who do you recommend?
5:22: And so there's a couple of people that I, you know, no, like and trust and they sent me some people to look at.
5:29: And I'll be honest, I didn't have time to look at all of the examples before I met with my client this morning.
5:37: And so I'm on the call with her and I'm like, well, hey, I got some, I got some other leads that we could potentially look at for some, some web designers, so why don't we, why don't we take a look at them.
5:46: And because she was almost to the point where she was just going to tell this other person yes.
5:50: And I'm like, no.
5:52: Like if it's not a full body, hell yes, we, we don't have time.
5:55: We don't have room for this kind of bullshit because if you don't absolutely love it right now, chances are you're going to spend even more money later on redoing it.
6:05: How many times have you guys done that?
6:07: Were you like, OK, well, I'll just do it now.
6:09: And then 6 months or 12 months down the road, you end up doing it again or redoing it yourself.
6:14: So you just spend more time and more money than if you just waited for the full body hell yes, right?
6:22: So, we open up these,, these designs and first I go to this chick's website.
6:28: Who is the designer, and I did not even realize that it was a female who was the designer.
6:33: I'm like looking at the site and I'm like, oh my God, this looks like straight up corporate architecture architecture like dude work, and I was not impressed with the site.
6:45: But I wanted to look at the examples that she had built.
6:49: And so, you know, we give it a chance.
6:51: And as soon as we open up like a few examples, oh my God.
6:55: Oh my God.
6:57: They were.
7:00: So cool.
7:01: I mean, they were vibrant.
7:03: There was movement, they were modern, they were, everything, everything you could want in a website and I was like, dude, this, and I could just tell.
7:16: That her energy started to lift up, right?
7:19: And even though that the like the names of the websites were kind of funky, I'm not gonna name them here, but they were a little funky, so we were kind of like, what the fuck is this?
7:27: But then we looked at the actual sites and it was like, oh my God.
7:31: Oh.
7:31: Oh yeah.
7:32: This is really fucking cool.
7:34: And so I personally loved them.
7:36: I was like, damn, like maybe I want to go like hire this person.
7:41: Like this is really fucking cool.
7:43: So I was very much impressed.
7:48: I loved it.
7:48: I felt like my client loved it as well, and I could just tell that the energy shifted.
7:54: It went from like,, maybe to like, oh my God, this is so fun and exciting.
8:00: And can you tell the difference there between like a wa want to like a hell, yes, this is so much fun.
8:07: And so when you let things be fun and exciting.
8:11: That's when you are more energized, you're more alive, and you're going to attract the right people into your life, into your business, into your circle.
8:19: But when you start to pooh-poo yourself and minimize and shrink yourself, those are the people that you're going to attract, and then you're gonna wonder why.
8:26: Oh, I have this miss messaging or this mismarketing.
8:30: Well, duh, it's because you're not being your authentic self.
8:33: It's because you're saying yes to things, because you think other people want you to say yes, and then you're mad when other people That you don't necessarily align with are coming to your business because they're aligning with the thing that you agreed to, that's not even you to begin with, right?
8:53: So when you can start to make space for more full body hell yeses.
8:57: You will start to get more, hell yes, types of clients, right?
9:02: So that's the simplicity of it is not only when you say yes to yourself, you're allowing other people to say yes to you too.
9:12: You will find more of the right network, more of the right friends, more Of the right clients because you are putting out the energy and intention that this is who I am and this is what I represent, and this is the type of people that I want to draw into my circle.
9:30: And so, if she would have went with the first web designer, and not that there was anything like wrong or bad about it, it was just an entirely different vibe, entirely different vibe, right?
9:43: And I think she could have been somewhat happy with it.
9:47: But the difference in her energy between the first web designer and the second web designer, night and day difference.
9:55: And what do you think she's gonna do if she is like super proud and excited about her website?
10:02: Do you think she's gonna share it a hell of a lot more than if she's like,, it's not really that fancy.
10:08: Do you think she's ever going to talk about it?
10:11: But if she's got this like bomb ass website that she's super excited about, of course she's gonna talk about it.
10:17: She's gonna tell everybody and their mom.
10:19: She's gonna be like, guys, look at this kickass website that so and so did for me.
10:25: She's gonna tell everybody and their mom about the web designer.
10:28: She's gonna tell everybody about the experience.
10:30: She's gonna tell everybody about her new website.
10:33: She's probably gonna get that that designer new clients.
10:36: She's gonna get herself new clients.
10:38: It's gonna benefit everybody because she had a full body hell yes to herself, to herself because she said yes to herself.
10:47: It now benefits everybody in her immediate circle.
10:52: Whereas if she would have dimmed her light.
10:54: And said, OK, I'll I'll just go with this first one because it's convenient.
11:01: She's not benefiting anybody because she's not going to recommend that web designer because she wasn't completely satisfied with it.
11:08: She's not gonna brag and tell people about her website because she's not over the moon joyed about it, so her sales are not gonna go through the roof, right?
11:15: And then more people aren't gonna know about her product or service, right?
11:20: So it's the gift that keeps on giving when you can say, hell yes to yourself and the things that light you up.
11:29: So that, my friends, is what I wanted to share with you today as I pull into the ranch for my team sorting riding lesson.
11:38: Hope you have a kick ass day and I'll catch you on the next episode.
