0:00: Hey, hey friends, Sausha from the Sales Mama podcast.
0:03: I am on my way to another horse event.
0:06: I haven't done one in a few weeks.
0:09: The chaos of the holidays has just really gotten to me, and I actually forgot about this one until I took my kids to their riding lesson yesterday, and the gal was like, So will I see you tomorrow?
0:20: And I was like, Oh shit.
0:21: Yes, yes you will.
0:23: Yes you will.
0:24: I haven't done anything for 3 weeks, and my horse is a filthy, disgusting mess, but yes, you will.
0:31: Anyways.
0:33: That brings up the topic that I want to talk about today with commitment, because there are two types of people in this world.
0:42: 2 types of people I found out.
0:44: Yeah, there's probably more, but for, for the sake of this podcast, there are two types of people in this world.
0:51: Those who keep their commitments and those who find excuses to get out of their commitments.
0:59: There's very rarely anything in between.
1:02: There are those of us who no matter what, come hell or high water, if we said we're going to do something, by golly, we are gonna fucking do it.
1:12: It doesn't matter.
1:13: It does not matter.
1:14: It doesn't matter if we are in the middle of a surgery, in the middle of a home birth, if we are.
1:23: On our deathbed, if we are 4 kids deep, riding a horse, cooking dinner, on a sales call, taking a shit, vacuuming the house all at the same damn time.
1:36: If we said that we were gonna be somewhere and do something, we are gonna be somewhere and we're gonna do that thing.
1:41: And then there's the other people who at any sign of minor inconvenience, they bail.
1:50: Oh, I overslept.
1:52: Oh, my breath smells bad.
1:54: Oh, I got mascara in my eye.
1:57: Oh, my child accidentally got a piece of spaghetti on their shirt and I had to run to the store to get a bleach pen and then I did this and blah blah blah blah blah, right?
2:10: Every fucking excuse under the sun to not do something.
2:13: And then those same people, those same people.
2:19: are the ones who wonder why they're broke.
2:23: They're fat I'm, I'm just like gonna lay it out there, right?
2:28: They're broke, they're fat, they have terrible relationships.
2:31: They blame everybody for everything.
2:33: They can't find why, the reason why they can't stick to something or they can't hit their goals, or they can't find this magic pill to just be successful.
2:47: And the missing ingredient is commitment.
2:52: The missing ingredient is discipline.
2:55: It's because they are looking for somebody else.
2:58: To fix their life for them.
3:01: They are waiting for somebody to come along and save them.
3:07: But here's the thing.
3:09: Nobody is coming to save you.
3:13: Nobody is coming to save you.
3:16: You have to want to save yourself.
3:19: I can't save you.
3:21: Your mom can't save you.
3:22: The fucking president of the United States cannot save you.
3:27: Some will say God will save you, Jesus will save you.
3:30: Yeah, only if you want to be saved.
3:35: Only if you are asking to be saved, right?
3:41: So start showing up and acting like you give a damn.
3:46: Honor your commitments.
3:49: And I am a very lenient, very casual, pretty chill person, but nothing pisses me off more than being stood up or being lied to.
4:01: Those are two things that I just cannot handle, and I have dealt with a lot of those people in the last 30 days.
4:12: Why you ask?
4:13: Because I am trying to support my sales mamas, my sales mamas, school gals by trying to find the right support for them to grow their businesses, right?
4:26: So trying to find virtual assistants, trying to find setters, trying to find closers, and it takes a certain type of person to want to work from home.
4:33: It takes a certain type of person to want to do better for themselves and I.
4:37: Find that not everybody is cut out for this.
4:41: No, no, no, not everybody is cut out for this.
4:44: This is not for those, oh, if I just tell all my friends and family to buy this thing, then I'll be a millionaire.
4:51: No, no, no, no, this actually takes work.
4:54: This actually takes discipline.
4:55: This actually takes commitment and you find out real, real quick.
5:01: Who the real winners are, who the real successful people are, who the real deep down, gonna get it done no matter what type of people are, the people who are in it for real lasting change.
5:17: And I just, I find it hilarious and sometimes I just ask like straight up, like, is this a priority for you?
5:23: And sometimes people will be like, no, it's not, or they will say yes, but their actions speak louder than words.
5:30: So this podcast is for all the business owners and all.
5:33: All of the career women, the work from home women, anybody out there who is trying to do something better for themselves, especially this time of year, right?
5:43: It's the first week of the new year, you're seeing all this new you, you know, like new year, new you bullshit, right?
5:50: No.
5:51: New Year, same.
5:54: New year, same year.
5:56: Different intentions maybe.
5:58: It's the same damn you, but what are you gonna do different?
6:01: How are you gonna show up different?
6:04: What commitments are you going to honor to yourself?
6:11: How are you going to show up more disciplined than ever before?
6:16: Because I tell you what, people are all in when they want to try something new, new, new, new, new, new.
6:22: Everybody wants to try the new thing, but nobody wants to keep on keeping on after the shiny newness wears off.
6:30: Nobody's in it for the long haul.
6:33: Nobody is.
6:34: Why do you think people can't stick to diet plans?
6:37: Why do you think people can't stick to workouts?
6:39: Why do you think people can't finish books?
6:40: Why they can't finish programs, health?
6:43: There's statistics out there.
6:44: People buy up courses all the time.
6:47: And it's like a ridiculously low number of people who actually finish the course.
6:53: It's like 30 or 40%.
6:55: And then people wonder why they never see results.
6:58: Hell, you're just information whores.
7:01: Everybody, they just want to consume, consume, consume, consume.
7:05: Nobody actually wants to do the work.
7:08: Nobody wants to do the work.
7:09: I shouldn't say nobody.
7:10: There's a select few of people that.
7:12: To do the work and those are my people.
7:14: They're more concerned with the action than any of the bullshit information.
7:19: The information's out there, but it's what you do with that information.
7:23: Stop looking for new, new, new, new, new, and instead, do, do, do, do, do.
7:30: That sounds funny, especially since I have children, they would be laughing hysterically right now.
7:34: Do, do, ha ha, Mom, you said do do.
7:38: But in all seriousness, you guys.
7:41: What is it going to take for you to show up and take action?
7:46: And I'm not always immune from this, you know, sometimes I have to call myself out on this my own bullshit.
7:51: Like recently I've been offered some things, you know, and I'm like, oh, is this a shiny object?
7:57: Or is this, is this an actual real opportunity?
7:59: And I have to sit with that.
8:01: Is this something new and exciting?
8:03: Or is this just like is this just distracting me from my overall goal, right?
8:09: And if it's something that is actually distracting you from your overall goal.
8:14: Then it's not really commitment.
8:15: It's not really staying disciplined to yourself, to the mission, to the vision.
8:21: It's just a new, new shiny object that's going to veer you off track and take you farther away from what it is that you desire most, OK.
8:32: So how are you gonna show up?
8:34: How are you gonna show up big this year?
8:36: How are you gonna stay disciplined?
8:37: How are you gonna say no to those things that are keeping you stuck and playing small?
8:45: How are you gonna start saying yes to yourself?
8:48: Yes to yourself.
8:51: And honoring your commitments.
8:54: You wonder why people don't show up for you and take you seriously.
8:57: Fuck, you don't even take yourself seriously.
8:59: You don't take other people seriously.
9:01: You don't respect yourself, let alone, why would anybody want to respect you?
9:07: Treat people how you want to be treated.
9:10: Basic principles of life.
9:14: Basic principles of life.
9:16: If you can't show up with commitment and discipline and respect.
9:21: I'll be damned if you're going to get it.
9:24: Nobody's gonna give you that if you're not willing to dish it out, OK?
9:29: Sorry, you guys didn't realize that I was going to come at you hot with the first podcast of the year, but I am feeling he did with some of these conversations that I've been having.
9:38: I'm sick of the shit.
9:39: I'm so sick of the shit and all the excuses like women do better, moms do better.
9:46: Like I am a professional, I'm a professional ass woman over here.
9:51: But really though, I am, I'm educated.
9:54: I have been through shit.
9:55: I have been through hell and back.
9:56: I have gone through the muddy ass waters.
9:58: I've gone through the deep dark forest and let me tell you, there is no shortcut.
10:03: You have got to go through the shit to get to the other side, and nobody is coming to save you.
10:10: You have to save yourself.
10:14: You have to save yourself and if it is something that you want bad enough, you will find a way.
10:19: You will find a way because there is nothing on this earth that is more determined than a mom wanting change for herself or for her children.
10:31: And I'm telling you, when you get angry enough.
10:34: You will change.
10:35: When you've had enough of your own shit, you will change.
10:40: But how bad does it have to get?
10:42: How bad does it have to get before you say enough is enough?
10:45: And sometimes you just haven't put enough pressure on yourself.
10:48: You haven't burned all the damn boats.
10:49: You haven't, you haven't let go of the Plan B.
10:53: Some of you are living on a backup plan.
10:56: Get rid of the backup plan.
10:58: There is no other option.
11:01: What would you do if you had no backup plan, if you had nobody else to rely on but yourself, and you had to come up with, I don't know, 5000 or $10,000 this month.
11:10: What would you do?
11:12: What would you do?
11:15: Start thinking about that.
11:18: A lot of you would be like, fuck, I'm screwed.
11:21: But my people would be like, bring it on.
11:24: Ain't no thing.
11:25: Make it 100 $100,000 bring it on.
11:30: Right?
11:30: It's all about mindset.
11:33: Not all of it.
11:34: I mean, you got to do a lot of shit too.
11:37: It's not always about the new stuff.
11:42: Stick to what works.
11:44: Stay disciplined, stay committed.
11:46: Stop waiting for somebody to come along and fucking save you because it's not going to happen.
11:50: It is not going to happen.
11:56: So that is my podcast for you today as I am on my way to a sorting competition that I committed to over 2 months ago, and yes, I forgot about it, but guess what?
12:07: My ass is showing up because I said yes and I committed and I am here.
12:12: Am I ready?
12:13: No, I my horse ready?
12:15: No, but you know what?
12:17: I'm pulling into the goddamn driveway right now and we're going to make the best out of it that we possibly can because I said yes to this person, to myself, to my horse, and I'm not backing out on my commitments.
12:29: I'm not that type of person.
12:32: I'm not that type of person.
12:33: What type of person are you?
12:35: What type of person do you want to be this year?
12:39: Cause I guarantee you, if you start sticking to your commitments and you start showing up, you start acting like you give a damn about the things that you say you do.
12:49: The whole world is gonna be a lot different this year.
12:52: Your whole 2025, it's gonna be flipped.
12:57: On its ass.
13:00: All right, ladies.
13:03: That is what I have for you today.
13:06: And I hope you have the best.
13:11: The best new year, new month.
13:15: And I hope you just kick ass and make this 2025 your year because you know what?
13:22: I know it's my year.
13:24: We're going places, we're doing things, and if you want to come along for the ride, whether you're a business owner or whether you are looking to build a career from home, I encourage you to reach out, whether it's sales mama school or the work from home school.
13:39: We got something for you.
13:40: All right, ladies, have a kick ass day.
