0:00: Hey, hey, welcome back to the Sales Mama podcast.
0:05: I'm your host Sausha Davis.
0:07: And today I want to talk about energy flows where your attention goes.
0:16: And this has been a lesson for me this last month, two months.
0:21: And I want it to be, I don't know, I guess a lesson for you.
0:26: I feel like I'm always learning things the hard way because the month of October was not my best month, not my best month, at least for the sales mama side of things.
0:40: Oh shit, there goes my drink.
0:44: It was not the best month for the sales mama side of things because I was focused on a different part of my business, ok?
0:55: And this is why I want to say that energy flows where your attention goes.
1:03: So this month, I've decided that my energy and attention is going to be shifting.
1:11: OK?
1:12: Because when I focus on the things that I want to grow those things do better, right?
1:19: It's like when you plant a garden, you go out there, you water it, you nurture it, you you know, make sure it has the right nutrients in the ground and the right fertilizer and all the things, you know, you get a really healthy fruitful garden.
1:41: But if you just go out there, throw some shit in the dirt and expect it to grow and go focus on something else.
1:49: Chances are your garden isn't going to be as great as it could be.
1:54: Ok?
1:55: And so I had and have had first hand experience with that on multiple occasions and it always comes and bites me in the ass.
2:06: You know, people say split attention, equal split results.
2:10: Well, this is a perfect example.
2:13: I had to I hate even like saying this, I guess I don't have, I didn't have to, there was just some shifts that were happening in my business.
2:25: And so I took some calls which I don't like to do really a whole lot anymore.
2:32: Some sales calls for one of my other consulting clients and it was only supposed to be a handful of calls a week.
2:41: Ok.
2:42: So I'm like, ok, fine, I'll just do a handful of calls a week.
2:44: It's not that big of a deal, right?
2:46: I said yes to something that I should have said no to, should have said no to it.
2:50: I should have draw a dr drew a hard boundary there.
2:54: But I didn't, I should have trusted my gut and it turned out and it bit me in the ass.
3:01: So anyways, I said yes, I didn't really want to say yes.
3:06: And then these people end up having this giant sale last month for this product that I'm selling.
3:14: That was normally only like five or six calls a week.
3:17: Shit.
3:18: You not, you guys, I was doing like 30 calls a week on top of all of my own stuff, right?
3:29: Holy smokes.
3:31: There was days where I was doing like 12 or 14, sometimes 16 calls a day.
3:36: I'm not shitting you.
3:37: I was like back to back to back to back to back.
3:39: People were laughing and joking at me, but I still managed to make time for myself and my family.
3:45: I still very much practice what I was preaching.
3:48: I just didn't really have the opportunity to grow the sales mama side of things a whole lot, which sucked, right?
3:57: And so with that comes consequences, you know, if the cash flow isn't like where you want it to be.
4:03: I mean, we still had a pretty decent month like it was still at where it needed to be, but I like to have that consistent growth, right?
4:10: And so it was a stagnant month, it wasn't a growth month.
4:15: And so this month I'm like, well, fuck that like we need to get back into a growth month.
4:21: And so what do we do?
4:22: We focus our attention and energy on growing the business, right?
4:27: And so this is why it's important that you have a clear vision of where you're going to go and why it's so important to trust your gut and trust your intuition and not say yes to things that you don't really want to say yes to.
4:44: Because every time I have done this and I'm sure you can agree with me on this where you say yes to something you don't really want to say yes to it comes back and it bites you in the ass, you know, and yes, I, you know, I made some decent commission on that other, you know, thing which would have been a really good paycheck for somebody else.
5:04: But in that commission check, I could have made one sales mama school sale and made more, I could have made one sales mama school and made more than I did in that entire sales commission check from that other company, right?
5:22: As a business owner that doesn't make financial sense, it does not make financial sense at all.
5:29: Right.
5:30: That was a stupid, poor decision on my behalf.
5:33: Ok.
5:34: So where are you at in your business to where you are making poor, stupid financial decisions?
5:41: Where are things that you are saying?
5:42: Yes to that you shouldn't be saying yes to what are the things that you're doing on a daily basis that you can get help doing that anybody could do or somebody would enjoy doing so that you can focus on scaling the business, right?
5:59: Because ultimately, if you want to have this business that's making 2030 $6100 a month, whatever you need to have a team.
6:11: Yeah, you might be able to do it by yourself to an extent, but not without the burnout.
6:16: Right.
6:16: At least not that I've seen, you know, not from the people who I've worked with or worked for and all that good stuff.
6:22: Right.
6:22: A lot of people are, they're hustling, they're hustling, hustling and hustling and that's why I'm here because I want to do things differently or I am doing things differently every freaking book and podcast that I've ever listened to entrepreneurs.
6:32: They're all saying, oh, just work from sun up to sundown, sun up to sundown.
6:36: I'm like, yeah, it just doesn't work that way when you're a mom or when you have freaking animals to take care of, it just doesn't work that way, you know?
6:44: I mean, you are technically working from sun up to sundown, but you're not working on your business from sun up to sundown.
6:52: You're actually taking care of a whole hell of a lot of things.
6:55: It could be livestock, it could be horses, it could be kids.
6:59: It could be, I don't know if I have meals.
7:01: It could be your husband, which sometimes seems like an extra child.
7:06: I'm just kidding.
7:07: My husband helps out a lot, but any her book, where are you at where you could be focusing on growing the business and not so much focusing in the business.
7:22: Ok?
7:23: In October, I was very much in the business, in the business, in the business, in the business.
7:28: And you probably didn't even see me that much on social media.
7:30: Hell, I don't even think I recorded six or eight podcasts.
7:34: I was like, I fell off the face of the fucking planet.
7:35: I hated it.
7:37: And this month I'm like, you know what, it's go time and I say that a lot, you know, I get in these like rants where I'm like, it's go time, let's do it.
7:46: And I'm in one of those modes again, right?
7:48: Because I like to follow the numbers.
7:50: I like to see where things are going, you know.
7:54: And so that's where I'm at right now.
7:57: It's like, where is your energy?
7:58: Where is your focus?
7:59: Where is your attention?
8:01: And how can we finish this year?
8:03: Strong?
8:03: You guys, there are six weeks left in the freaking year.
8:08: How are you going to finish it?
8:09: Strong?
8:10: Ok.
8:10: And so with that, let me, let me send you an offer.
8:14: Ok?
8:15: Because December 1st, I am kicking off a six week sprint and this is an exclusive opportunity to work directly with me and the sales mama team for six freaking weeks.
8:26: It's going to get you through December and the first two weeks of January.
8:30: So you're gonna get weekly calls with me and the team.
8:34: You're going to get a private community, a private group, private village, you're going to get access to me and my team, you're going to get one on one with me, one on one with my strategist, one on one with my social media person.
8:46: Seriously, you're going to get a whole hell of a lot for less than 1000 bucks.
8:52: Six weeks, you are going to be kicking ass and taking names and you're going to get a, a freaking taste of what it's like to have a kick ass community and really rocking and rolling and working on building, building the business, not working in the business, building, that business scaling that business.
9:13: No more of this split energy, split attention, split results.
9:17: Let's focus, focus, focus, start kicking ass and taking names.
9:22: Ladies, if you're curious if you want to learn more hit to the show notes, I'll put some links in there for you.
9:28: Hope to see you in December.
